Sana Makbul started her career in modelling, and went on to appear in advertisements and TV shows. In 2009, she appeared on the reality show MTV Scooty Teen Diva. Makbul made her acting debut with the teen musical series- Ishaan: Sapno Ko Awaaz De (2010). In 2012, she participated in Femina Miss India and won the subtitle Femina Miss Beautiful Smile.

- In 2014, She changed her name to Sana Makbul. She changed her named because, Bigg Boss 6‘ participant Sana Khaan looks nothing like each other, but that doesn’t stop people from getting confused between the two. To do away with the confusion, she decided to add her father’s name to her own. She is now known as Sana Makbul Khan.

“I have always been a pet lover but today if I see a dog, main apna raasta badal leti hun (I change my path). Kyunki ek dar mere andar aagaya hai ki, ‘Oh my god! Ye mujhe kaatega toh nahi?’ (because I’m scared now and if I see a dog, I immediately think, ‘Oh god! I hope he doesn’t bite me’). Yeh dar nikalna hain, as ye lifelong toh nahi chal sakta (I want to get this fear out of me because this can’t go on forever). I think vo bezubaan jaanwar mujhpe attack, koi bhi jaanwar ho whether it is a dog, cat, mouse or rabbit, like any sort of animal and insect jo beuzbaan hote hain, bezubaan jaanwar aap par kabhi bhi attack kar sakte hain (right now I feel that an animal, who can’t speak, can attack you suddenly). This is what I feel because I have been scared for that. I have been scarred for life actually, I would say that.”

Having said that, I was like okay cool. It is okay abhi hogaya (it’s over), what can I do? More than anything if you accept how you are, nobody can beat that.”
